Then...

In May  of 1997,  we met
Rick Steves and his TV crew near Big Ben in London while on vacation with our two sons.

In March of 2019, we enjoy world  travel again while on the           Heart of Italy Tour.

Heart of Italy Tour March 2019

Any tour can show you the sights and tell you the history, but Rick Steves' Tours immerse you into the culture so that you feel like a local.
Nine Days in the Heart of Italy captured in two minutes.

 GREETINGS FELLOW TRAVELERS!

We have always been a big fan of Rick Steves, watching his TV shows and reading his tour books. We used his books, when we traveled Europe with our two sons in the 90's. Now with our sons married and established in their careers,  we decided to rediscover European travel again as

"Empty Nesters."

Self admittedly, we are NOT tour people. But Rick Steves Tours are not your ordinary tour!

So, why did we select a Rick Steves' Tour?

EFFICIENCY * EFFORTLESSNESS * EXPERT GUIDES

We had always vowed that we would not do an organized tour.  But this was not your typical tour. This was efficient.  We never would have seen so much in a short amount of time on our own.  Yet, it was effortless in that we just needed to show up. At the same time, free time was scheduled if we needed a break. Our guides were always there to answer questions and point out interesting sights. We felt like we were on one of Rick's many travel shows.

We also used to cringe at the thought of traveling in buses. But they were spacious and half filled because Rick limits his group numbers.  The buses turned out to be a highlight because we could experience the beautiful Italian countryside with expert commentary from our guides Nina and Marijan. NOT driving was a plus.
